I too would like one puhlease!!!

It's not that hard to do yourself send me an e-mail, I'll send you back the AutoCAD file and the measurements, Take it down to the local perspex place and hand over the file and measurements and say "two please" one red, one black.

the short answer is I don't remember. Not much I think $80-$100 for 2 the lazer cut perspex, the glover box was free but I was quoted between $100 - $200. $10 bucks for the bolts.

the best thing to do with a perspex one.. would be to have translucent blue or green or clear even... as the back layer... drill some 2mm holes in it, insert high bright LEDs.. and shine them onto the gauges... that would look hot...............

kinda like...

would that not have the same applicable laws as neons?

thanks for the suggestions guys but i think i may stick with good old fashioned wood and vinyl covering to match the rest of my interior

has anyone thought about fibreglass or is it only me?

i'm currently building a dash from fibreglass with gauges pointing towards the driver with all the bells and whistles, but itll be waiting until i get all the materials together to cover it in leather and suede and do the rest of the interior at the same time

(and before anyone asks, my doorcards havent changed, theyre fibrglassed up ready to go, just waiting for more materials and money  )

1018cc fibreglassed over the mdf that he used to make Ash's dash. I was thinking of doing something similar but i am going to be covering it in vinyl instead of painting it. i am hoping the fibreglass can be sanded to give it a nice smooth, slightly rounded front.

My understanding was neon's are illegal because they are neon's(doesn't make much sense) but I also heard that so long as they don't create a reflection on the glass which would lessen visibility their ok :? I assume LED's are ok.
I would really like to know the true laws about internal and external lights on vechiles if anyone knows  .

yeh it can be, but im covering mine aswell instead of painting it.

if you want a plush feel to it, dont worry about the fibreglass, put some 3mm, or 6mm foam on the wood before you cover it,
or if you want the hard feel sand it down and bog it where there are holes etc and then sand that again so it becomes really smooth, then cover it.

i kind of like the bit that goes around the gauges so i thought maybe i might make 2 panels, one to fit either side of the gauge cover. i just really don't want to drill holes into my mini so i'm still looking at options on how to attach them

so a 2 peice dash and youd keep the original gauge cover?
im pretty sure someone on here did that, but i cant remember who.

(btw kenno, im pretty sure, here in nsw anyway, any interior lights are not allowed if they obstruct the view of the driver, or the drivers of other vehicles.)
