club77, just got that email mate, cheers for that. I'v got a CAD program at home i think so i'll make some adjustments to where the gauge holes are in the centre, (I have 3 instead of 2).
Just wondering however, did you also remount your main gauges so that they would sit flush like that? Are they easy enough to read now?
Also, how do you have your stereo mounted behind the dash, any other photos you have would also be appreciated.
Cheers

When I remade my dash, the previous owner had made up a dash out of chip board and had bolted the gauges onto the back it is screwed in using 6 screws , so i don't know if he modified them at all to made them fit. I don't think so, just take the outside bit off.

the stereo was install professionally, but as I understand it just slides into the hole cut out.

As for photos, my portable hard drive with all my photos is playing up, when I get it working I will post some up.

so a 2 peice dash and youd keep the original gauge cover?
im pretty sure someone on here did that, but i cant remember who.

I did something similar. I didn't want to mess about with detaching the instrument binnacle so i just cut a bit of mdf to the template up to the binnacle, stuck 3 holes for new guages, 2 holes for power sockets, a hole for my stereo, hole for air vent and hole for glovebox, glued some foam and then nailed, glued and stapled some cheapo Spotlight vinyl on...

I'll stick some pics up if i can find which PC they're on:
I posted about mine in this thread but i've not paid my hosting fees on my old website so the pics are not working.:

The other thing was how I attached mine - didn't want to drill holes so I used a couple of turnbuckles - makes it pretty easy to remove and reattach and it is rock solid too. Read thru my posts in that other thread for more info.

Its from a Daihatsu Mira. Dash is shortened, rounded, smoothed already. Just needs fine sanding and paint. Guages are going to be Sparco - Single speedo and single tacho.
