i think mixing compounds is a bad idea
No it's driving within your limits or what your car is capable in the conditions. Its a problem when you have differnant compounds from left to right not front to back specialy when your talking about front wheel drives and you have 70% of brakeing capasity on the front. In a perfect world I would have D93J's all round if I could justafy the $ to the mister of finance but she even said, they wear quick so I have to justafy it.
As it has been a have had had Monza's on the back and D93J's on the front and never had a problem. now to change over to A008's on the front pfft.
Previousley on Ausmin we have had a heated discusion, what was more required better tyre on the rear and on the front or the rear. I still stand on the best tyres should be on the front, Once again as 70% of your braking is on the front
For my daily drive thats a differant situation. I transport my 3 year old 90% of the time

My tryes need to be change and it the rears that need to be changed. This is were I get my logic from, Personal experance. I drive a Alfa 75 and one of the last of the classic Alfa's so its a pleasure to drive unless something is wrong. I change front or back every two years with the drinfing I have done and have found on a rear wheel dive car wear a lot quicker than a front wheel drive on the same Medium.
Mixing compounds is perfectly find if you know what you have specialy if the they are the same on the fronts or on the rears. If its for Track work thats a total differant monster.
Last thing about this. I'm well over my age of being a rebel on the road and I'm more defencive than most specialy since since My little Man Owen. The road is for getting from A 2 B....Remember That
