After all this, it has tainted my love for cars and minis quite a fair bit. I still have her but the fire has died abit. Although the right judgment was passed in the end, it just made me lose a lot of faith in our legal system...

Just get out and drive Lillee again and see if the joy comes back . The charges and drawn out process would be a real kick in the teeth but stick with her and remember why you got a mini in the first place .

I have been driving her for the whole year, when I appealed I got my license back straight away. I drive her at least 2 times a week to work

IMO the judge should have awarded you costs. The fuzz took a crap case to court, yet again...

mate, i could open up and say quite a fair bit, but all im gonna say is that wwhat you have said is childish and downright dumb, and for you to label us all as geeks, grow up. that statement of yours was just downright idiotic, again, grow up and realise what you actually say, rather than acting like a 5 year old with name calling. If you were busted, and said to the officer, i do that everyday, how well do you honestly think that would go down? How about you think before you say something.

again, its good news that your able to get lillee back and i agree with doc, judge should have awarded you costs, but you get to walk out of there with no record, at least thats something to think about.

If you are joking, try using one of those smiley face thingies, or else people will think you are being serious.

Oh and my congratulations Lillee, im glad things went the right way, it is sad that things like this happen, some fuzz out there just need a life and a reality check...( c'mon, the mini would've smoked the rolla' )

its such a shame that it cost so much, i agree with the others, some re-imbursement of costs would've been nicer.... ah well

All the best :)

Yep, you're all right. Shouldn't joke about something. even if it is over 12 months since it happened. How long before you can joke about something 8 years.

You could open up and say something quite a fair bit. Wow. Looks to me like you did. Must have had a bad day, didn't get lucky at home. Shite day at work. Traffic tough coming home. Dog ate your favourite slipper.

Lighten up and grow some humour.

It happened 12 months ago but it only finished last week. I suffered for 12 months because of it. It was still a tense day in court last week as it could have gone in any direction. Next time you have a bad bit of luck over suffer over long period of time I hope some totally random person that hardly knows you, jokes about it and makes fun of the issue.

O.k. my last on the subject then. Lets see. Its tough about you and your car driving incident and I'm real sorry about your problems. 8 days ago my best friends brother tried to commit suicide. We had him committed to a mental insitute where he scaled the wall and ran home. he's fine now back on prescribed drugs, but yesterday i laughed with him about escaping the asylum. I have paid out over $8000- so far to help my daughter get off a stupid assault case (night out at niteclub incident over ex boyfriend) through lawyers and idiot psychiatric assesments. Yet when i see her i ask how her right hook is going. I nearly died two years ago and almost needed a liver transplant because my wife gave me a high dose vitamin tablet which almost killed my liver. I joke and called her the Black Widow.
My Grandmother has dementia (She raised me from baby) when i rang her two months ago she told me off and said she had no grandson and since then will not talk to me. I laugh with my mates and tell them to ring her using my name and see how they go.

So yes, I Know problems. and I know that humour is sometimes the best way to look at this stupid stressed out world. So thats the end for me. Thankyou ladies and gentleman.

I fail to see the humour here.
1. Your post wasn't humerous (apparently to anyone else except you)
2. As Chong said it was a year of trials and court and only JUST finished
3. If the 'geeks' etc on here bother you, those same 'geeks' dont mind the door hitting you in the ass as you leave and go elsewhere.

You obviously are not someone who has posted on here often and are/have been a silent member for a long time, you can learn alot here, if your making jokes and humour then add that in your post so people know your trying to lighten up something thats quite a down situation... otherwise you come across as arrogant and down right rude.

Your situation and everybody elses is different. Siince you have not posted much, no-one really knows where your coming from or your personality... most of us actually know each other outside the forum so get away with smart ass comments, etc... its all in the timing and delivery mate, you might be a really nice person and had good intentions... its just that it all comes across badly and makes you look bad.

Peter
