sorry for being dumb..
but whats the trouble.

i have simplified it and i read:
< 1989 is fine
> 1989 and u need RAWS which is basically homosexuality at it's peak.
rover mini's are like late 80's tho aren't they? and u can still get front cuts etc.

i don't understand what the change is... sorry

My main concern is that the 15 year old rule is now a 16 year old rule... and ongoing.
i see the main offender is the r32 skyline.... triggering the pre 89 rule.
my 89 minis were getting the better dash, brakes etc.... now back to basics.
front cuts are still ok. but car sales are going to suffer

Yes, bit of a bummer for the mini world.
It is now going to cost a lot more for the same car.
The customers are the ones going to be worse off though.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but as of now there is no longer a 15 year rule on imports, meaning less imports, less rovers. prices rise.
Waiting on more info

I'm still not getting it. If the rule no longer exists, then you could bring in what you want.
If it does, wouldn't that be no different to now?
Or is it that you can't bring in anything 15 years or younger fullstop. Not even private imports?

But this law only applies to importers, doesn't it? If I were to bring in a car privately I could still do it, right?

What if a car is bought overseas, then stripped down for parts, and put back together here when somebody "restores" an old car?
