MK2's should be 22G1128 casing, but it's hard to tell if the gearset is actually Cooper S, cos the same casing was used for Mini K's. All I know is that when fitting a central oil pickup to these boxes, the cluster is really easy to get out of a K, and a bitch to get out of an S

depends if the seller has any clue about values of things, I vaguely recall someone advertising a MK2 box that needed a rebuild for $800, that matches up with what a MK2 block is worth (about $1200) but I've got 2 K boxes I tried to sell for $100 each and no takers

doesn't help much, but at least it's a quick answer

Only real difference inside between Mk2 S and Mini K boxes (not counting the diff)- the S's 1st motion shaft (22G1371) has 18T, the Mini K's 17T. `S' cluster gear is stamped `22G1040'. Diameter of the biggest gear on it is smaller to mesh with the bigger 1st motion shaft, but it has the same tooth count.

Look first at the cluster gear- if it's a 22G927, it's a Mini-K.
BTW, this Mini K box was also used in 1098 Clubbies up to `73. Clubman GT got the `S' box.

Simon, If you want to move your K boxes post them here- they are getting a bit scarce since people with rodchange boxes found that engine location is way better with a remote box.

I'm pretty sure Makka would take one, for a start.

<edit> p/nos etc added.
