Thank god things didnt turn out this way.... :shock:

This is what happens when you take a normal mini and try to give it an "Impact Absorbing Nose Cone". In the early 70's they were trying to redesign the mini so that it was safer during an accident. This prototype was given upgraded suspension, strengthened sills, more engine room, plastic impact absorbing bumpers and a longer wheelbase. It was codenamed the "Mini SRV4"..... and was thankfully ONLY experimental.

yep they were ugly, but they built some awesome cars and pioneered some pretty nifty ideas and engineering steering headlights, hydrolastics
