I think that's quite reasonable. Remember - he has a mortgage to pay off, bills to pay and kids to support. He has to make his money somewhere along the line. I know the prices that my local mini bloke does stuff for (parts and labour) and I have absolutely no problem in paying him when he does work for me.

If you owned your own business, would you intentionally run it at a loss?

I don't think you've been ripped off. Something will always cost more if you get someone else to do it who charges an hourly rate. The lesson to be learned from this is fix it yourself next time.

i would say thats about right. add up his labour, rego, retaping that thread it will add up. the regos now can cost anywhere between $20-$31.70 (which is what we charge at work). sounds pretty good.

but the question is, is the wiper working? are u happy with the job? so if u are then its money well spent.

Well the wiper works at one speed only and doesn't park, same as I gave it to him, already bolted in and connected up. I would have used a self tapper for the remaining bolt and inserting the circlip takes 2 minutes.

For me it's a waste of 70 bux. Ah well, lesson learnt. Tell them exactly what you want and for what price.

Well it looks like that mechanic won't have to deal with you again

Is The wiper motor a round body type? If so does it have three terminals or Four terminals for the wires to be conected to.

Hi John,

it is round body type, it has a connector with 4 spades in it, but only 3 of them are connected to wires.

Can you shed any info into the mystery?

Thanks,

hg.

You may have a car that originaly had siingle speed wipers fitted, so there may not be the wiring in place for a two speed wiper motor, This is not a huge problem however .
I am happy to have a look at it for you and check why it is not parking, ( No Charge )This may be the park plate or the wrong switch fitted, Give me a call 02 46481233
