My MK1 Cooper S is on club rego and is insured for $26,000. My MK2 Cooper S & Clubman GT are on laid up cover for $10,000 each.

They even insured my 2005 XR6 for 30k for $500, bargain i say

I just had a look at my policy from Shannons.

Mini on club rego agreed value of $25k: $215 (Modified)

2003 XR6 Turbo Ute agreed value of $26k: $648 (Modified)

Hyundai Excel 3rd Party/property: $139 (Standard)

All vehicles locked up in a garage in a safe Postcode, Im the only driver of all of them with no accident or insurance claim history....

Hmmm, I might have to give LSV a call and see what they can offer.

Don't compare to people who have them insured on limited use. Sounds about right if it's a full on daily driver.

Dont forget to note that NRMA vintage & classic cover doesnt apply to cars that are driven to work etc. Found this out the other day  They will only insure it under vintage/classic cover if it is pretty much a club rego-d car

I would put money on it that Lumley would be cheaper.

In my opinion Shannons have lost it, they have been bought out by the Prominar group (GIO/AAMI/SUNCORP) since them the policy prices have hiked up dramatically, plus with the amount of television advertising they do that must be costing them heaps, i had been with Shannons for a long time, but had no trouble switching to Lumley.

That's referred to as a disincentive quote. They don't really want your business.

I just got a quote from LSV for my 68 deluxe, parked behind gate in a carport, nice suburb 50km out from Melbourne (east), comprehensive agreed value $6000 for $420. I'm 32, never made a claim in my life, no fines etc. Cover is for vehicle being driven daily.

Shannons is cheaper for me by around $70

I had my MK11 Cooper S insured with Shannons for 12+ years.
I wanted to up the value as I hadn't ever changed it from $15K. The guy on the phone wanted me to jump through hoops to even increase to 20K.

I recently changed to Dawes insurance after seeing them a car show.
They had no issue insuring the Coops for an agreed value of $27K (without needing to see the car) Salvage rights and no Klm restrictions for $230pa

this was $50pa cheaper than Shannons, and $12K more agreed value than Shannons.

Clean slate, Gargaged in Sydney and 33yo

Got onto Lumley, spoke with a dude there called Charlie? He is helping his mate do a Vtec conversion on a Mini?? He was keen to talk Mini's!!!

I was surprised that they wanted to see my current policy so that could ensure they matched the price. Id rather them beat the price rather then match it, otherwise its not worth hassle of swapping.

Ive sent them pics so ill wait and see what they come up with
