Anyone have any contacts for getting a set of secondhand cooper S brakes (complete) in the Uk to bring back?

A friend is bringing a car back shortly and has offered me some space in the container. Now all I have to do is source a set.

Kevin.

Where in the UK is the container leaving from??

Have put the word out over there - waiting for one of my contacts to gather prices.

[I have a better contact but he's a technophob and we have been trying to get him for the past 3 weeks the old fasion way. I wish everyone would get themselves into this century, it would make life so much easier]

Don't know exactly yet - he is still in the process of confirming. He has to pick up a car from France (DKW) and take it back to UK. It will be england, but other than that not sure at this point.

My firend will have a hire car and indicated a reasonable amount of flexibility to drive to pick them up.

how do we get stuff back here inexpensively ?

i know, sticking a fat USED Race car parts sticker on it helps with taxes....

should we get a co-alition together to get a whole heap sent over ina big box on a boat?

Sea Mail. Takes a couple of months, or find someone that has a contract with DHL, Fedex or one of their competitors. I suspect air mail for heavy stuff would be over the top. Bringing it in by mail genrally eludes any duties if the declared value is under a $1000. I have bought in data loggers (by air mail) for karts over $1000 and not been pinged for duty. I think the freight companies chase the duty for customs as I had a cam bought in many years ago and nearly had to pay duty on that. We told them it was for a tractor and they dropped the duty!
