I am not going to post it on the forum. Just like I am not going to name the business that was selling it.

The silly part is the ID plate was not even fitted to the Mk2 Cooper S by BMC/Leyland.
So it is actually a fake of something that never even existed.

Therefore it's not fake - it's original!

Because it is not a copy of anything which exists...

Still wouldn't buy it anyway.........

Does this mean that I can tell my kids that all the 'fake' Santa Clauses at the shopping centres are actually all original. :)

I think the problem is the fact he has put a body number on the plate, and IF it is attached to a car it will therfore change the cars identity. If it had my cars body number on it, I would be straight off to the cops, to get him charged.
or what happens if the bloke who actualy owns car with the number on the plate wants to get his car re-registered??? but the bloke who has bought the plate off ebay has already regod the car with its identity. Could 2 cars be reg with the same body number???

Yes, they are usually registered in different states and this is commonly known as "Cloning".

Which is another reason we could really do with national registration and licencing , it's ridiculous to have so many different schemes in a country the size of Australia ....
