Yeah they`re certainly a sweet bit of kit,,, Rodger (the guy who made them) lost a fair chunk of money on the first batch so he was reluctant to do another run of them,,, i expect he might actually do it tho,,, there is plenty of interest & the dollars are being waved about :-)

Would the one that Josh (miniimports) had at the Mini Show last year be one from that batch?

After going to all the trouble of doing these tricky heads, it's a wonder Rodger didn't just CNC some manifolds up from billet.

I have no faith in anything that Weslake did. He was the most overrated engine bloke in England.
When he was doing development for BRM in the early 60s his 4 valve heads gave less power than the existing 2 valve heads.

Weslake came up with the standard A-series combustion chambers that everyone knows is the first thing to modify to improve power or economy on a Mini.

Naah it's pretty simple. When you are ready to part with your $5000, you'll get one in no time flat.

have you considered the "MGB MSX CROSSFLOW" head to suit a 1275 a-series?
asuming you like Webers that is.
they are for a B-series wich came out with a 1200cc early on
and im told they are the bassicaly the same head with people putting a-series heads on there b-series

That's for bare head only. By the time you add all the valves, guides springs etc it'll be pretty pricey.
There is a good writeup on this head by David Vizard in `Keeping your Mini Alive' #1, published by Miniworld magazine.
It looks promising, airflow wise, for BIG motors, however I don't know of any out here that we could compare to Minis with Arden or Elder 8 port heads.
At least the Elder head comes complete, being alloy it has unleaded seats standard too. This AKM/Minisport one doesn't.
If interested in an Elder 8 port (made in Oz), contact Russell Engineering.

Hey Doc

sorry if this has already been asked about how does an Arden compare with an Elder.. (i know westlake is the best but that been discussed already)

Is the following correct
The elder is 8-port
The arden is 7 port

Thanks Brenton
