Ok, today i have been playing with the clubman. It needed a new Washer bottle as it wasn't working, spotted the wiring wasn't all there but removed and tested and nothing, so new bottle and motor in and tried to find the wiring as it has obviously been 'messed with' by PO

Issues:

Is the washer switch supposed to be wash/wipe or just wipe(2 speed wiper motor)? As it is currently just wipe. Found the washer to switch wire Green/black but can't find the positve feed.....(hooked up of horn to test)

Also have a green/purple which gives power on accessories but it fluctuates from 12 to 0 volts.... WTF!?!?

thanks people :?

I reakon, the washer is( - )switched, or the horn is (-) switched.

I cant remember I know one of them is ass about.

So you should have 2 neg wires and 1 feed wire for the washer and the horn.

I done this recently I should really be able to remember

What year is your Clubbie and I'll troll through my wiring diagrams.

Cheers

In all the diagrams I have for Clubmans, the washer switch only supplies a GND for the washer motor. It has no effect on the wipers to allow them to wipe while washing? 12v goes to one side of the motor and the switch supplies GND.

Yeah, I checked my car too and that's how it is. The washers don't trigger the wipers at all. Haven't driven it for some time so wasn't quite sure how it used to work. Shouldn't be too hard to incorporate a trigger though with a timer relay so it does a few wipes.

Cheers,

Dicko.

Light Green, but mine is really dirty so not sure of it has a coloured trace as well.

EDIT: Mine is a 76 Clubman. The switch feed has both a black and a green wire exiting the terminal at the Washer Bottle. The Power feed seems to be just Light Green. I will give it a clean a bit later (about to watch the V8's) and see whether it has a trace. This is different to the above Wiring Diagram, and the one that I have too.

If needed I can trace the green and black wires for you and see where they both end up. Not too hard as my car is pretty much gutted.

Dicko.

black off switch is earth, green/black off switch is from washer just having issues with the feed to washer. the only 'spare' wire there has a fluctuating voltage(should this be temp sense wire??) as temp sense has a nice 12v supply!
