you can actually get moulded carpets (which i do not recommend as someone wise once told me that when the carpet gets wet you cant take it out to dry it properly :)) from a lot of australian companies in brissy.

It depends on who you get to do it, what you get them to make/install, the quality of the material etc etc etc

The pre-made stuff from newton commercial is great quality, however be sure to buy the stuff made for Australian cars as there are difference in fit and pattern with the UK stuff. Once you get someone to install it, you may find that it works out more expensive.

As for moulded carpets, I have heard very bad things. A 9piece kit will fit much nicer, be more original and easier to install and maintain.

You also need to consider the time frame. Shipping from England will not take long, and fitting and installing should take no more than a day or two. However having them made from scratch could take months.

Your best option is to price the pre-made kits including shipping, and then talk to a variety of trimmer whom you would trust the work to and get them to quote how much it will cost to a. trim and install or b. put the covers etc on and fit. Don't ask for an estimate as you could find yourself running way over budget when the time comes. Get an actual quote. Make sure this includes time allowed for the work.

Fitting new covers and door cards is not hard work, they simply slip over and clip on. The only interior pieces that i would consider hard are the headlining and dash lining.

NG, I got my daily's seats covered at a local trimmer, pretty quick, did a good job, reasonably priced.

They couldn't get in the exact same colour and grain as the original vinyl but that didn't worry me. They re-foamed the seats and stitched up the seats from scratch (using the old ripped and faded covers as a guide I presume), and if I remember correctly sourced and fitted new rubber diaphrams.

They didn't do the door cards (the originals were fine) or the carpet (I have 2 piece moulded carpet). The rest I covered myself.

$500 for the front two seats, $400 for the rear seat and I can't remember how much for the hood lining (that was a few years ago now). The front seats looked good in the day but I have lovingly worked in a serious butt groove now :) If you are up in a couple of weeks you can check out my shitter

yeh cool.

i'm not fussed about it being original.

i just want nice interior for the travaler

new carpet, Seats front & back, door cards & Bin cards.

bit sporty Flash looking not going for the retro look.

pretty much like the rover interior but not in leather or anything.

material wise i don't give a crap. as long as i don't have to peel my self from it in summer.

to get a full set of carpet for the woody from England the postage was 66 pounds and took over 2 months to arrive. It is Newton Commercial but I did not buy it from them hence the bad service from another well known company.
