I introduced my little Brick in the gallery section, and im heading off on the road (again), so if you see me, stop say hello. Im heading out through to St George, QLD, before heading into NSW.

Taking the little car, across the Oodnadatta Track, through Lake Eyre and to Uluru, a massive task over the next few months. I welcome you to join me on the road, beep at me, stop and say hello.

Ill be documenting the entire trip online, at http://www.googajoob.com. With some photos and text (hopefully some video), so enjoy.

Great treak - did something similar years ago (last time Lake Eyre had water in it)

Just be careful wadding in Lake Eyre - the salt concetration can be so high it burns - all of us - 6 kids and 4 adults suffered for days afterwards - it was like being scalded with boiling water although at the time it was fun

Good luck - have done that trip myself (many years ago) and you will need care between Marree and William Creek - its a great road but an all weather surface which is VERY rough and hard on tyres - slow speeds are the go here... some extra spares might be a good idea before you leave Adelaide as the ONE servo in Marree wont have 10" tyres I don't think...

The track from William Creek to Coober Pedy is also a pretty good road but a lot of bulldust - some very thick - lots of right foot and praying will help..

The rest is really a walk in the park - spend some time around Wilpena Pound as the scenery is great and there is lots of great photo opportunities..

Have a safe trip...

DICK

PS - Oh yeah - at Lake Eyre it will be muddy but wear shoes as the salt crust will cut your bare feet up and you pay for it for a few days... wear something you can throw away as the mud stick like poo to a blanket :)

Sounds great!

Best of luck and have an awesome trip.

That would have to be one of the longest and most inland trips a mini has done in a long time.

Have a fun!
Matt

St George Mini Owners, Dinner or Drinks it is. Maybe even a Sunday BBQ somewhere.

Ill be around St George i reckon with the next week. I had to come back to Brisbane for clutch parts.

I was going to go out to Cunnamulla, but have changed plan to go south to Lightning Ridge then to Bourke.

If you know anybody thats got some odd/wierd aussie work to be done, id like to earn some $$$ as well as cover the story of the wierd work for my web site.

I was meaning to call you back today but i got caught up doing other stuff and it completely slipped my mind. Im still stuck in Brissie waiting for some stuff, ill be leaving here on Wednesday, and will likely turn up in St George on the Saturday.

I left phone in car the other day, i did notice the missed calls.

It would be great to have an overview of the whole trip for The Mini Experience magazine.

We have a story on a couple who did a trip around Australia, including visiting the centre and Ayers Rock, back in the 1960s in a Mini van, in the next issue.

It would be great to follow that up with your trip, with comparisons on the roads of today.

Cheers,
Watto.
