I noticed a bit of chattering on the way home tonight, so I lifted the bonnet and found this:

Yep, that's the needle. From looking in my black book I think it's sticking through is called a damper..?? Has anyone had this happen before? :? I'll have to organise a replacement. Are there any other bits I should be looking to upgrade while I do this? I'm not sure what size my carby is, but it's a single sitting on a 998.

that's not the needle, but the damper rod.
Pull it out and screw another damper in.

Hymie, anyone with a stock of mini bits will have heaps of old carbs laying around - I've got plenty of them, but you'll find someone close to you with one.

Your car won't run properly without it in there, and top up the oil in there as well
