I feel sorry for ya Nick. What a crap thing to happen, and to such a sweet lookin ride.
It's a bit hard to value a mini like yours because of the mods you've done to it but since it's a traveller and all, even though not original, my unqualified guesstimate would be around the $15 to $20 grand mark.
But that's only my 2cents.

There's very few Travellers on our roads, I'm not even sure they were sold here new so what is here will probably have been imported.

Why don't you get in touch with some mini business and see if they can give you some kind of valuation?

With bonafide receipts for the the work carried out / parts purchased + car purchase price, I would think this would be your expected entry level for compensation.

You should also request salvage rights to the car. If the offer is anything less, I would then demand salvage rights.

Graham in Aus may be able give you a good idea of replacement value.

Hope everything works out, my thoughts are with you.

most people i have talked to say my engine should be fine?

maybe new starter motor & dizzy?

but the interior is shot the doors cards are puffed up.

the seats are soaked back & front carpet is stinky & damp.

also my disc brakes & bearing will be shot now? if it is?

so ill have to price up that also?

I drove up to check on the shop, the guy is sleeping in there tonight

poor guy.

this must be extremely stressful, but settle down a little - wait until you can get proper access to the car, get all of the interior out and dry it out and see what is wrecked and what isn't. Was it all original stuff, or retrimmed?

the brakes will be fine (they get covered with water any time you go through a puddle, right?), but maybe not the wheel bearings which are only $50 per side, so don't stress

the dizzy and starter will be fine once they're dried out - use a hairdryer?

#1 priority is to flush the engine with new oil a few times. Buy a few containers of cheap oil and do it ASAP

you've got an injected engine in that don't you? all that stuff needs to be dried out too

from the looks of that photo, the car would easily be worth $20 - unmodified (restored) travellers have sold in that region

the engine is twin su'd. 1275

no i never got it re-trimmed original back seats & new rover front Mpi Seats with the adjustable headrests.

the door cards are swelled the bottom door pocket card thingy's have floated away .

i think i would want new starter & dizzy.

what about the Alternator & Aircon stuff compressor etc is that done for?

would be great if they re trim it! hehe
