So i went to see some rock paintings of aboriginal art in the gundabooka national park. I head the warnings and see that it is dry weather roads only. The weather has been good for a few days, but it rained solid for 3 days earlier in the week.

I get 20km in to the park and see the rock paintings, and on my way back im flying along and take a wrong turn. So i need to a do a u turn, turn the vehicle, and clutch and it just slides, and slides and slides, right into the ditch on the side of the road.

Stuck 5km in from the main road, 60kms from Bourke and 100km from Cobar. Stuck for over an hour, i decide its time to dig the farkn thing out.

Just then a National Parks and Wildlife guy flies around the corner and gives me a hand saving me what probably would have been another couple of hours digging mud.

:D

I enjoy following your trip, but it would be much easier if it was in only one tread.

Hehe lots of crap goes wrong, but thats how you make a good holiday.

If stuff doesnt go wrong how else are you supposed to meet the real locals.

Ive got some much to update, written about 10 stories, and taken over 1000 pics.

Ill start a new thread, and ill keep everything in the one thread from now on so that its easier to follow.

When i went through bourke, nobody had seen a mini in bourke before.

Ive had, "oh your the bloke in the red mini" at least 50 times on my trip.

And yes i was lucky, that NPW were in the park, although, i had started to dig out by the time he had arrived, he just saved me a few hours of hard work.
