Think I've fixed the leaking sump plug hole - time will tell.

drilled some holes and mounted the bracket for the brake booster.

Marked out where I'm going to cut out the rust hole in the A panel

BTW, all the balljoints were only finger tight, just relying on the lock washer to prevent undoing. DANGEROUS STUFF... they should be torqued up to 72ft/lb.
The PO `aeronautical engineer' should never have been let work on a car... :!:

Its scary how little, hands on mechanical aptitude most "bachelor graduate engineers" posess. The only practical mechanical class we did at uni (not including extra ciricular) was a strip down and rebuild of a lawn mower engine. That was it for 4 years of mechanical engineering. Probably wouldn't have a problem designing a ball joint though! .

Made a 2 piece boot board so my new boot carpet sits nice and flat. Even has a gap for the fold in the carpet to drop into when the boot is closed.

Plush :D

Well,

I gave Scooby his first 5000km service and all went smoothly, and then I made up an MDF speaker board to go below the back seats and did a temporary stereo installation until I finish my centre console. Finally I have more than just the engine to listen to and if I hear any bad noises I just crank up the volume and as if by magic the bad noises disapear :D

Today I have managed to get depressed over the myriad of problems with my mini :( but I still wouldn't trade her for the world :)

Might take her for a bath tonight ready for Saturday show'n'shine at Supercheap Capalaba
