Found it in the trading post. Going for a look on Saturday.
Definetly looks younger with the little wheels.

Does it live in Springvale? I was told of a car like mine owned by an asian person who lived there. Had been to NMP a few times.

Good luck. You may have a mini quicker than you think.

I rang them up, they didn't know what was under the bonnet, or what is stopping it. The engine number is for a 998 I think. They haven't had the car long, maybe they got it from an asian couple.
The car is in Wheelers hill, not far from Springvale. No intentions to buy at the moment, but might have a few surprises that make it OK.
I'll get some photos too.

The Mk1 grill really suits it, I hate the UK Mk3/4/5 grills, they just look gay.

Funny, if I bought it, the grille is first to go!

Well, went and had a look, but the car is sold. It had a very well done paint job, but I suspect lots of the car is filler. Still some rust around the gutters and seams. The guy asked if I wanted to hear it running, but after 5 minutes couldn't start it!
The interior is nice, it's had some money spent on a complete retrim, rover dash and momo wheel and knobs.
He's got my number in case the deal falls through. If I have another look I'll take a magnet and find somebody who knows where to look for rust other than what can be seen. If it passes, I'd consider getting it and fitting an EFI to it. Probably won't happen though.
I'll post a interior pic later.

What with every panel replaced on it?
Theres no way a 73 UK mini could be in that non-rusted out condition, even if it was locked up over winter... and thats a fact.

willy, why don't you read Jan's signature, or go to the source? Might find an answer there...
