If you have trouble finding new planet gears, contact Karcraft.

I`ll guess that it is the exhaust clunking under there :-)

I was going to say maybe the rubber unis are flogged but it sounds like you have a roddy with pottys so i`m sticking with the exhaust being the culprit,,, maybe an intermediate or rear exhaust mount is broken-torn ???

You might want to check the drive shaft uni's. When they get loose they will give a bump as you transition on and off throttle.

Lift one wheel off the ground at a time, after placing your axle stands under the car give the wheels a rock back and forth. Check for movement in the uni that might show some slack. Repeat for the other side.

absolutely no movement in the drive shaft unis, cv's or the like. i took a video to better explain what i mean here..

Image

i can hear gears rotating as i do this. but that probably means nothing... i dont really have the time to pull the motor out so if this is too bad, il have to miss minishow :(

I think you`re being paranoid,,, that seems pretty normal to me,,, have you checked the exhaust mounts??? & have you checked out how close the exaust system sits in relation to the body or subframe??? as in how close it is??? Have you checked the engine mounts but putting a jack "Under" the engine & jacking it up , jacking the whole car off the ground & looking at the engine mounts while it`s suspended off the ground with the jack taking the whole weight under the engine???

Most minis have a fair bit of play in the axle & diff assys,,, some more than others,,, i`d be looking a bit harder else where before jumping to conclusions,,,

Diagnose by looking, checking, double checking, inspecting, etc at verything before "DOING" anything else.... make sure you actually "FIND" the "REAL" problem before attacking "ANYTHING"

sorry to sound like i`m all bossy about it,,,, i just hate hearing about people ripping engines & diffs out """IF""" that`s not the problem

thats why i posted the video, as i wasnt sure weather it was the problem or not.. i replaced the passenger side engine mount recently but only put a second hand one in there to pass the roadworthy the next day, ive ordered some new ones, the exhaust mounts seem to be ok and i wiggled it around very hard and it didnt move any more then it should, il replace all of the cheap consumables like rubbers and bushes and see what happens, il also check the subframe for any obvious marks etc, when i go on the club run on saturday i might get someone of knowledge to come in the car with me just to see and hear it, if its not already fixed.. i definately dont think your being bossy, im more then happy to hear expierienced input, you know alot more then i do

i got rid of them so its not that, its not a braking thing its the instant your foot comes off the throttle and the carb closes (the way s.u carbies seem to be a bit on the rough side on shutoff) it makes a clonk noise which sounds, as everyone has been saying like something hitting the subframe etc. i just want to be sure thats all
