Well we try our best here in Oz as far as the mini scene goes.

We are limited in that there are less minis here to attend events.

I for one will keep trying to promote minis as much as I can and I just hope that events that have so much organising in them are attended well.

That is all we can ask.

You only have to go to an Ausmini member's backyard or garage to see a real mini scene

you have to look at iut this way australia has a smaller mini crowd but we are as staunch and loving of our mini's if not more so as we have not had a mini in australia built for 26 years were as over there they had them till 2000
if you think the scean is so bad here why not go back to england and enjoy that scean
i personaly love the aussie scean the cars and the way we are help full and not derogitive of each other
btw was at steve and mikeys last night that is a scean in it's self

We are just going through this very thing, importing cars from the UK. 2 choices really, car must be over 15 years of age and no duties just GSt to pay on arrival or personal import and as stated before vehicle must be owned for at least 12 months but will have to comply with all ADRs before it can be registered. Find a 15 year old body that someone has carried out the conversion to and bring it in under the 15 year or older sheme, we use a firm in England called Excess International Movers, they pack your car into a container and then pack the rest with excess baggage, costs about 900 pounds for the freight that way plus landing cost at the Australian end. We had quotes of 2-3000 pounds using other shippers and have 2 cars on the water with them at the moment, sorry guys no mini's in this lot just a lotus Europa twin cam and a Westfield, could be 2 Mini Marcos's coming vey soon though. If you want any more info let me know

Ok there seems people dont understand me too well, maybe its my accent, (lol),
Firstly Jan I know you try ur best and ur club and state try very well to keep the Mini alive, its a world wide know fact, hey Im driving the some 8 hours to get there, to sample some mini entertainment you have to offer,

JAM u have been there 4 times ur lucky, go again if you really wont something, and this is for all Mini owners, not just you, pack your bags and go means that, hell you live once, if you wanna have a great time see a Mini Scene like you never seen before see some great sites (UK and Europe) just bloody go, theres no nasty meaning behind that statement, some people just dont see it.

A real Mini scene is no insult to our Aussie attempts, hell I back Watto and his magazine support my local club and attend any event thats worth while, Im not one for politics and seen what they do to clubs, yes UK club scene has a little but not as much as here, may be the poms are just all round nice people (Graham in Aus) hehe

Go Back give me the chance and I would, people that know me on this site knows I would fly back in a second, its hard for a guy that was so involved in the Mini scene in UK to come back to slow life agian

if any one finds me rude too bad its a free world, hell I say what I feel and why talk behind backs, and I would say this too ppls faces
