took the 3 intact spark plugs out, connected the jump pack and hit the starter - nothing happened, seems the PO may be right about the state of Marion's engine.

On a positive note all the electricals (bar the windscreen wipers) work (although seeing as she's an 850 there are only 3 electrical items anyway)

Finished all the modifications to the front of the Travelle"R" to allow the front to be unbolted and removed. Just have to drill 4 more holes tomorrow! Also welded on some brackets to my subframe and started fitting my fiberglass Sport Pak arches to the Travelle"R".

I did nothing, but my father has now almost finished welding up all the rust and built me a rotisserie. I will never be without a rotisserie again, the best way to work on mini body work. Hopefully I'll get my build thread in the members minis section going again as soon as I get batteries for the camera. This week will be a good mini week, should be in primer/filler by the end of the week then I can build more shed shelfing while the primer/filler hardens and shrinks.

Pulled the air cleaners off the carbs to give them a clean. While there, took the carb pistons out for a clean too.. a clean SU is a well-behaved SU 8)

Noticed that the carb serving cylinders 1 & 2 was sucking a little harder at idle than the other, confirmed with the old hose-in-the-ear trick. Tweaked the linkage on the left hand carb a little and it's spot on now. Goes a little bit harder now, too 8)

fitted the crank and pistons to the 998 im building, but cant put the oil pump and cam etc in yet as i havnt got my gasket kit from s.a yet. i pulled apart the gearbox, spent ages trying to get the springs and ball bearings back into the stupid synchro thingas when they broke apart  then rebuilt it to the stage where i need to put the laygear back in.. which is broken so im chasing one of those up.. painted all of the gearbox and engine covers dark grey (block and head are black) i also discovered that the engine has a ported head with big valves and double springs, and a race clutch, lightened flywheel, racing pressure plate etc :D lucky i didnt sell it :P

Got any pics?

Rolled Supercharged850's Convertible mini shell into my shed yesterday, another one to the collection. Plans are to do some reinforcing of the bodywork (and get the kink out of the middle ;) thanks for the heads up Supercharged850) then sand it back, pick a colour and find a nice design to airbrush on it. The twini and the 'K are on the backburner, as the convertible is closer to complete. Pity really, 'cause i got inspired to finish stripping bits off the twini and sand it back this week.lol.

Spent the weekend putting the motor in. Finally started it, and it sounds awesome. Took it for a test drive, and the tuning is way out. Need to do a bit of a tune after work today and it should be right to drive tomorrow hopefully. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

did some more work on my head liner. Its a van and I want a full length head liner. Got an 850 headliner frame, cut and extended it a bit to fit. Covered it in Fabric and glued foam to it. will glue vinyl to it next weekend and then do some strange fu to it to make it a little different. Also cut some leftover dynamat into strips and put a strip up the van roof ( on the inside and then some branches the other way. this was to get rid of the boooooooong noise when slamming doors or so forth. I gave it a bang to hear first, did it and tested again. Sounds heaps better!!

FINALLY ..... finished the front brake job after a weekend of hair pulling frustration
First i couldnt get the big castellated nut of the end of the right driveshaft so i ended up changing the brake shoes and cylinders around the wheel flange(really annoying) then i smacked my head on the guard while undoing a tough little flex hose then got a metal splinter in my thumb ( my fault shoulda cleaned up the swarf)....
last night i finally got to bleeding them and then what happens?..... oh i've run outta fluid and do you think anyone in adelaide sells dot 3 after 8pm so i had to take the day off work today just to get it done so i can take it to the workshop tonight to get an insurance jobbie done on it where some commodore driving retard decided he'd try and plough through the side of me..... oh i love my mini
