For a meet up and a cruise through the Perth Hills.

Sorry for the late notice, but with work the way its been, I have to take every glimpse of freedom as it comes up.

The details are a bit fuzzy at this stage, but I want to meet up somewhere close-ish to the city and then go for a cruise out in the hills somewhere. I'm thinking Saturday morning, but I'll be driving from Kal friday arvo and back on sunday, so open for drinks one or both of these nights too! 8)

Anyone interested?

I'd love to see your van and I lived in Kal for six years too, always wondered what the spoon drains would do to a mini! Serious air I imagine.

Let me know what your up to (PM), if the boss gives me a leave pass, I may come for a drive.

Cheers Glen

Saturday night with the Mini Owners Club?

From their website:

Drive-In Night - Saturday 1st August

Meet at Fast Eddys Cannington 5:30
For a Leisurely Run to the Galaxy Drive-In Kingsley.
Don't know what movie will be on but who cares?

Saturday Night with the mini club sounds good!

So this is the plan so far:

10:00am Saturday morning, meet up at the Dogswamp Shopping Centre, on Flinders in Yokine.

Then we go for a bit of a cruise. - Open to suggestions, but I want to find some corners!!

Then meet at Fast Eddys for the mini club night. :D

hmmm. Yep they're definitely bigger in the mini than in the Hilux! More like small valleys than ditches. No air yet. Fortunately I have pretty good brakes!

Might be keen for the drive-in. That takes me back 20 years.
Scheduled movies are:

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (M).
Plus
17 Again (PG)

Bugger - my folks are coming up from Albany for their bi-annual visit and will be entertaining them for the weekend. Although... my dad is a Mini nutter having restored a Cooper S & Clubman GT in his time.

If you want some fun windy bits, just up the road from me (at the end of earth at Clarkson) there is a cool km of windy road along Ocean Dr, Mindarie, WA. It's like someone has designed lots of those "slow points" in to the new road :D but it's up to you whether you want to drive all that way for 1km :?:

If Cono has my mini finished I will come for a meet up. He has told me it will be ready, but he told me that last week too...

If there is room James can i get a lift with the 850??
If i can get access to a few skate boards we can screw them to the 850 and tow it, or i can ride shotgun in the van.

Looking forward to the trip out of Kal

Sorry for this taking me so long to get this up, but I have been on site since I got back from Perth :( , anyway, it was a great weekend. Miniroy and I left Kalgoorlie on the friday night at about 5pm to make the 600km trek to Perth with the mini van on the rented car trailer behind my Hilux.

Saturday morning we (me, miniroy and my mate Mark with black FPV Pursuit) met Glen and his beautiful Rover Cooper and went for a bit of a fang through the hills past Mundaring Weir to Mundaring - stopped - turned around and went back! nice! 8):

Unfortunately I didn't take any photos in the hills (busy driving) but Miniroy did so he'll have to put a couple up.

Saturday evening we met up with the mini club of WA at a shopping centre in Canningvale and cruised north (just where we were  ) to the drive in movies.

We met more of the club guys at the movies, but it was too dark to take pics.

All in all a great weekend, no real issues apart from lack of sleep, and thanks for everyone who showed up and made it even better!
