 Post subject: gear box question

hey well i am in need of a new gear box now i have a all syncro box which has a chance of jumping out of 2nd what i want to no is am i able just to replace the gear that was worn or do i have to replace all the gears in the box ?

with any gearbox do the lot or it gets expensive in the long run ie stuffed box and eng.
if the gears are ok, then new brgs, and seals . check the syncro rings for clearance or replace. Replace the springs in the two selector hubs as well

you could replace one gear. But then theres a very high chance youll have to rip the whole lot out again to replace the next broken bit you were to tight to fix when you had the chance.

you will probably find that when you strip the box to do the second syncro ring , there will be plenty of other worn out things like brgs etc.
It could turn into a major rebuild so be prepared for it
