Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

It's OK if you've got some earplugs and a heater that works.
Last time I drove a Mini to Hay from Sydney I had to fill up 4 times in the 700km trip. That's 8 tanks of fuel!!!! Thursty little bugger.

Im sure this is an excellent event but why do the MCC always post there vents in MINI CHAT.........

I am just ponty out many events get missed as people who wanna rad about events perhaps miss an event if posted in wrong spot, sorry but Victoria and QLD seem to put it in the right spot

Monaro[/i]

Because more people read the 'min chat' section. I'm trying to advertise this event to the masses. I'll cross post it in coming event as well to keep all happy.

I know! why not have a section in Mini Chat called Events!! I really don't follow your logic mate....people out there arent stoopid...and cross posting just fragments the information about a particular event...

Why not ask the mods to move your post to Events??

Next year the are plans for a big show. If you are more interested have a chat to MrBob, he is the promotions officer of the club and will be able to tell you more. I am not a standing committee member so am not up on what is happening that far ahead.
Cheers

Aaron

I did as you suggested Aaron and sent MrBob a pm but I haven't had a reply.

Maybe I should just join the club and I would get the newsletter. Do your newsletters print a copy of the minutes of Committee Meetings?

This way I could find out whats happening.

Here are the details for Hay - hot off the presses.

This years Hay is shaping up to be a snorter (Is there any other kind?) What
we have planned so far is the Friday evening at the Caledonian & Crown,
will be the usual quiet little get together this time we may liven it up a
bit with some fairy bread and party hats.
Saturday we will be taking a couple of Panadol then kicking off the street
parade from the swimming pool carpark and heading right the way through town
then right into Brunker street then onto Pine street and back on to the
closed road for the Moppett street show and shine as per last year.
There will be judging in 6 categories plus people choice, a remote control
khana, Pinyada for the kids, and accessory sales (assuming there is some
left... get your orders in early! they're on the website!) www.miniclubsa.asn.au/clubacc.htm
Entry for the show and shine will be on the day this year, as opposed to on
the official entry form, so that should be easier!

Then on the Saturday night we are moving house to the Waradgary club,
(corner of Moppett and Pine street) were we will have a superb roast meal
for everyone, and even with enough seats for everyone! This will be a great
opportunity to catch up with people you haven't seen for a year!! We also
have the official close of entries at around 9 pm followed by the draw for
the first round run off of Hay heroes.

Sunday is the same as last year with the Lugsdin's being kind enough to let
us go and carve their front yard up again, and then on the Sunday night we
can all stay in our motel rooms and play scrabble, or we can dress up as the
absolute weirdest possible thing you can think of and head down to the local
RSL hall where DJ Housemaster Quinn will be bangin' out some toons.

Lettuce know if you'd like any more info on the truly Australian Hay Mini
NATIONALS!!!

Cheers

Yep. There'll be
- Mini Car Club of NSW (probably around 70 - 80 members going)
- ACT Mini Car Club
- Victorian Mini Club
- Mini Car Club of South Australia
- Modified Mini Car Club of South Australia (aka Hotbricks)
- Ausmini
and of course the Western Australia people (not sure what club they're from)
We used to get a few Mini folk from Qld make the trip but they now have a huge Show 'n' Shine on the same weekend which I know at least 16 of our members are going to.
The Mini Nationals in Hay have been going for 38 years and then a few years ago the Mini Owners Club of Queensland decided they'd have from what I hear a fantastic Show 'n' Shine on the same weekend. Shame it's on the same dates as Hay.
Yes, Hay is a bloody long drive for a drink, a motorkhana and a Show 'n' Shine but it a social gathering steeped in tradition and I've made some life long friends there. Not only fellow Mini enthusiasts but the local Hay community as well, they absolutely love the Minis coming to town and go all out for us.
I wouldn't miss it.

Cheers
Julie............
