Hey,

This may have been covered before bu ti cant seem to find it anywhere.
Is a Race harness thingy legal in ACT? Do i have to get the car engineered as a 2 seater to do this? And how do you go about engineering a car for a 2 seater?

Sorry if this has been covered before.

Thanks Blake

Blake,

The rules and regs have changed since I last chased this up...

But in the 90's a 2 seater had to be registered as a rally car.... they had different levels and for every day road use - a full harness was not allowed (I had my harness detachable with normal lap sash for every day). My car at the time had a fibreglass nose and half cage.

This was before "engineering" so hopefully someone has more recent/relevant info...

Otherwise have alook at the following links :

http://www.rego.act.gov.au/registrations/regorallycar.htm

http://www.rego.act.gov.au/assets/PDFs/Light%20Vehicle%20Modifications%20in%20the%20ACT.pdf

(of course the link in the PDF is now out of date...

Thankyou i might give them a ring in the morning and see what they say. I have installed my harness and have kept the original seatbelt all hooked up so it doesnt worry me if its not legal but i thought i better check before i decided to use it every now and then.

Thanks Blake
