I have just placed an advert in the for sale section for the sale of what was to be my superannuation package, It is a very easy to restore Mini 850.

Its a very reluctant sale and only offered because of the current circumstances due to the incessant and ongoing drought. While you look at the photos also look at the bare paddocks in the backgound

Hey fellas and girls

I have had a couple of messages offering to pass around the hat and the like. Please dont - simply please dont.

I have quite a number of projects - both mini related and non mini related and none of them are getting the right attention. The decision to sell the 850 is as much related to the fact I am not going to it justice as much as the money.

We need the money yes but the car is good enough to be in somebody elses hands who can do it justice. Minis are meant for roads, not paddocks and backyards.

Hiya Mike,
Definately dry out that way isn't it? Couldn't believe how much worse it got after the week of dry winds we had here. Its just started to rain here in town, so i hope it heads the 20-odd kms your way, no where near as much as you'd need i'm sure, but its a pleasant change from lately! Got my mini back home yesterday (windowless), and we just managed to get it in the shed 10 minutes before it started here tonight! Had me worried for a bit!

All the best,

Kim

The mini is at our Goolma place - believe it or not Goolma is on the western plains and climatically different - just enough - here at Home Rule we have had rain in patches - Goolma has missed out time and time again and is sooo dry

The sheep are surviving on dirt.

Let me know what you need for your mini - I probably have it

Sorry to see you having to do this Mike , it's certainly a pearler of an 850 to start a resto with . Part of me is wanting to say it's a rusty heap so that Mike can't sell it as I feel it is too good to sell for such a short term thing like stock feed but I can understand where Mike's coming from .

If anyone wants a second opinion on the 850 , while I can't remember specifics about it , I do remember being impressed with how good the body was for something that hadn't been on the road for a while , there are a few dings but nothing major that I can remember and no major rust . I'll have to go back through my photo's but from memory it had a lot of the original interior though the front seat was badly cracked (as they do) .

just after completing my mini, my dad started to get real interested in them. he wants to learn how to rebuild an engine. i showed him yours, said ill do the paint.. you do the engine, but he's not quite ready yet. maybe if it was a couple of months later. good luck, not only with the sale, but also with the drought conditions.
