BTDT actually...

Start with a 1330 S bottom end, Manx Racing head, 10.5 compression, 286 cam, 1.5 roller rockers, 8 lb Manx flywheel - top with a 48 IDA on a DV manifold.

= wheelspin at 80kays but an absolute dog every time you try to drive out of a roundabout. I got sick of being passed by old ladies on bicycles...

So I dropped the compression to 9+, swapped the weber for a pair of HS4s and fitted a "police grind" cam by Waggotts. I was told by the guy who ran Lynx's dyno in the 60s that Waggotts supplied the cams used by the NSW police cars.

I guess there amy be better options now but the cams worked back then and still get the job done today. Although, after 20 years, maybe its time to try something new.

Although, if you want to play with Skylines, then a turboed twincan Nissan might be a better bet than an A Series. You still won't win but at least you could give them a hell of a scare :)

Cheers, Ian
