NOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW we're talking.... Think of the MINI Beachcomber as the melding of one of Alec Issigonis' progeny with a Jeep Wrangler. The Beachcomber is based on the brand's new CUV, but gets an open-top/open-sides look reminiscent of the American off-road icon.

Unlike the mid-sixties Mini Moke, this one retains the main structure of the upcoming crossover, but is unlikely to ever see production. The new all-wheel drive system in the concept and the turbocharged four cylinder are both expected to appear in the production Crossover, although the 4,000-word press release somehow manages to avoid giving any actual technical details. Like a Wrangler, the Beachcomber can accommodate either solid roof inserts or a soft top.

Hmm, as much as I dislike the ever-expanding bulk of the new mini variants, i do think it's possibly the best offering yet, although still verging on ugly. I think the Styling could have departed a little more from the BINI clubman/crossman/countryman things though.

Me still wants though....

I agree, it is a lot better than the SUV's/X5's/Cayennes/Prado's/ LandCruisers/Ravs, etc., etc that are on the market. But shite, I would never look twice at them either.

There are so many thing I would never allow on the roads..... Like those VW clear lens LED lights p.e. Invisible at daylight and blind you at night. Inenious invention!!

So... I'm sure they find a way to make it legal... Special approval, exeptions and so on (I hope they don't, though )
