Wire wheeled the floor to find the rust and holes. Have been lucky, not many.
Also had to grind the front of the cross member as some had welded so plates in for some reason

Went for a squirt with Lil-ute on some VERY fun roads (to run my engine in) . . . My brand new windscreen cracked (fitted last wednesday) straight down the middle (I should care but I dont) due to the smallest rock ever, took some video footage which if it loads I will post later as they may be part of the 2 headed tour :D

Have nearly got all the dents out of the roof in Hetty. Now the metallic paint that is going to go on will look liquidiously smooth.. :)

Started to strip the underside of my MkII shell. A previous owner had sprayed it some sort of rubber or bitumen based coating, which meant most of the 40 year old panels are in superb shape. Another bonus was that the coating came off pretty easily with a heat gun and a scraper.

One the less happy note is that it's become obvious I'll need the shell sandblasted. Although I did most of the floor, it took the a full day. There's too many nooks and crannies (interior as well as exterior) and I won't be able to do it myself. I did sand bast some parts, but the mess, effort and time involved in doing it myself means it's more logical to farm it out.

I cut the rear valance (beaver panel) off as it was rotten, the drivers side floor has some perforations as does the driver side sill. Probably will only cut & patch that side as the rest is fine and I'd like to keep the shell as original as possible.

I also used my new Rivnut tool to fasten the aftermarket door pulls securely in the wife's estate. What a fabulous tool. I can now replace self tappers and other fasteners with something a lot more secure. Plus it was only NZ$100 new including 50 rivnuts in 5mm and 6mm sizes - well worth getting one on eBay.

was lucky enough to spend the day putting the modified wireing harness in Marcia today. Fuse Box and Lights Relay under the passenger side parcel shelf and most of the wireing hidden. Just need to clean it all up and shorten a few and do all the earths. Will put pic's up once finished
