But they have only had 2,000 miles worth of use since BRAND NEW. The shoes were only about 20% worn. These must be made of inferior metal because in no time at all I get really bad braking shudder that shakes the whole car. When the drums are machined this eliminates the problem. I have already had them machined back to standard once before.

It's starting to look like I have to get the drums machined every time I do an oil change

<edit> edited for spelling mistake

Yes there have been some dud new drums about lately.
Once upon a time drums and disc `green' castings were left outside for weeks to stress relieve themselves, before machining.
Time marched on with progress, and nowadays they put them through repeated heat/cool cycles before machining instead.
Sometimes, they get the process wrong... and you get crooked rotors and oval drums. I had 1 disc like this back in 1975. Happens more lately.
I have heard lots of reports of this recently.

Bugger that!!! I've had the drums on NAV for ages and given them an absolute hiding in that time as well. no warping, no shudder. Adjust and keep on mini'ing.

I got them of brickworks ages ago. i don't know where he got his bits from but worth every cent so far

I swapped all the gears (except reverse) from my rodchange box to a 4 synchro remote case. Including a new 22G1040 cluster and DAM3167 1st motion shaft (1275GT).
Still need to swap the outputs on the diff from pot joints to Hardy Spicers.

Went to VicRoads and had the CH paperwork processed. Paid for the plates and came home and put them on the car.

Took the toy to a decent Auto Elec to have the A/C looked at. Its an electronic problem, so he is bypassing all the electronic junk and putting on a manual thermostat so it will cool ( She who must be obeyed) in the future.

I fitted the flares to the back of the mini k, also trial fitted the front flares and marked out where to cut the guards for the 13inch wheels. I did also stand there and look at the mini for a while, that counts too i think for doing something?
