I just got a call from my insurance company. They are sending me a cheque for repairs to my hail damaged daily hack.

LIKE I AM GOING TO USE THE MONEY TO FIX IT!

It's now official.....JAM will be finished! And very soon!!

I was flat broke....hence the 'selling Pops' thread. Now I have cash to stash for family issues, and a little left over to finish JAM.

Woo-hoo.

The funny thing is......the car's market value is $7750. It has 270 000 k's on it, which makes it worth about the amount I am getting to repair it. So it's like selling the car, but keeping it at the same time.....

I've had it 5 years and it has been THE most relieable car I have owned. Plus, it's the family hack vehicle....used and abused daily! 8)

Good to hear that you'll be keeping pops, finishing jam and dealing with the family issue.
Is the daily hack still road legal, with the roof damage?

yea it's legal, but it is no longer comprehensively insurable until it is repaired.

I can't afford the premium for comprehensive insurance any more, so 'tis all good anyway! 8)

Having cash for the family matters was #1. So I am pretty happy now.

You could do the dodge and strip the roof back, fill with bog and repaint it yourself...

I checked it out yesterday, the hail damage is only slight, here and there. Not like it's the moon or anything..
Good deal.. 8)

nothing dodge about that! all the insurance company will look at when they inspect it is the nice shiny paint that looks smooth.

Well done Anton, hope that means the little fellah gets mended real soon.

I'm glad you brought up the 'i drive past it everyday' story with Chris and I that friday.
The workings of a higher being brought Pops to you.

If it was meant to be, Pops would've paid for your son's operation.
At the same time, nature damaged your Lancer.

But as we all know, Pops was your neighbourhood round-the-corner car, your one owner loved and cherished well kept car, your steal within our the circle.

Everything works out in the end.
Tis a funny world we live in Anton, and I'm glad we're in the middle of it, being played around.
