I really think they need doors though , they just look too basic with solid sides like that .

Too basic, or not nimble enough to leap over the side anymore?

Nahh , they just look like a tub without them . They need it to break up the lines a bit .

Meeni , if it's built right it can be as strong or stronger with doors

They look great as a tub!

The blue one does have class, but I prefer the yellow one (except for the roll bar condom).

Just get some pinstripe tape and stick some door lines on it.

You could easily build a speedster with doors in a Mini. You could use castle rails (I think that's what they're called) under the shell, like in an MGB or a basic ladder frame chassis. There's probably a million other ideas that would be satisfactory for the job.

I do like the lack of doors for the clean sides looks. It's like deseaming but taken to the extreme! However I must agree they needs doors (even though it would spoil the look). The sides are too high without them.

One way of giving strength while still keeping doors is to raise the height of the sill a couple of inches and shortening the doors. This would give a fair beam for strength if you make it right.

If you did it right it could look good.
If you did it wrong...

Without doors looks svelte. Good call.
