I posted these photos in a different section under Ballarat Swap meet, but now I've had a closer look, these models were made in Japan by Daiya. Remote control via a cable. The red car is suffering from rust (just like a real mini), and both remote units are damaged. Can anyone tell me anything about them, eg what year approx?

Can't help with info (Sports 850 should be able to when he sees this) but had to comment, very nice find! Hope you enjoyed the swap meet, I made it to Bendigo but with Phillip Island coming up thought I would be pushing my luck at home going to this one! Will have a look at the other thread. Cheers.

Not a hell of lot of info about them except they are scarceish (I have a near identical yellow one only mine isn't remote controled , just battery powered) , Daiya made them as remote control , basic battery powered and I believe friction powered as well . Detail's pretty good and they look great on display , pretty good score all round really :D

I had a thread on the IMMCC about it when I first found mine a few years ago but I can't find it now . If you want to know more I would suggest heading over there and asking .

Intersting the chose 1973 on the Monte plates, would that most likely be the year of manufacture?
