Hey doc... thanks for letting me know that method of measuring the stroke...

Here :)

i did mine just then and (even with my slightly rough methods) i came out with a measurement of 86mm..

woot :P

looks like i'm in the 1100 club :)

Actually it's 83.7mm- your measurement wire wasn't vertical..
Agreed- it's a 1098. :wink:

i know it's an 83mm stroke that's why when i got a measurement of 86mm i knew it was a 1098..... i said it was a rough measurement :)

the old geezer i bought it off was right.. :)

geez i'm st(r)oked

will,,, at 86mm it's longer than your stroke ;)

well seeing as this convo actually looks like it should have been a PM.. (thankyou without an actual explanation in the first place)

so.. i'm guessing here.. take the spark plug out.. put the piston at TDC.. shove a wire down the hole to touch the piston?
put piston at BDC and measure with wire again trying to make the wire straight as possible on her way down?

maybe we could post what measurements it should be??

should this post be at the bottom of another?
