Lost for 6 months, I finally found my Cooper S fuel pump vent in the panel beater's truck!

So much for turning my garage upside down, every coat pocket inside out, looking under the seats of my car, under the dog, seat cushion cracks, etc.

Well, enough on that. During my loss, I couldn't find a single "real" picture of this rare part. So...I dug out my macro lense and posted some pictures.

It appears to slide to lock. I don't think it's meant to come apart easily, just thought I'd show that it is actually two pieces.

Of course there's one for sale on eBay now that I found mine. If mine was still lost, you'd never see one up for sale. :)

Thanks for your effort and all the great pics. In a previous thread I said the bit that faces the pump on the outside of the car got ground off when stripping the underseal. I have the inner bit .
The pics will allow me to turn up the two parts with the bit I have got.
I cant find the email listing and I may be too late . ive been of the air for 4 days . You are right - dont see many for sale
Thanks again

You're welcome. Let me know if you want me to put a caliper on it and take some measurements.

That's me. I put a high bid in so I wouldn't have to watch the auction. I never would have thought someone would already have a bid in for $150. Surpised me as well...

But if your desperate and want it to be totally correct (and in a cooper s or GT this is one of the main checking points) i can understant paying stupid amounts for things (i have been there)

Puting high bids on it and then somebody bids and you win and then like wow.. if only they didnt bid i woulda got it heaps cheaper.

Good luck with it.

I keep bidding - I cant help myself. I keep picturing someone buying this to pass off their car as a real Cooper S. My breather is in okay condition, certainly not new old stock. I should be purchasing a new grill and bumpers. Not some silly piece of plastic. :)

It's ok... we understand!

Don't forget, there may be people out there who have had their breather lost or damaged on their genuine Cooper S (or 850) and want to keep the car complete........

Just hope you or one of those people get it!

It fits in the vertical kick panel, LHS rear, below the seat.
It allows the SU electric pump body to breathe air from the cabin, not water and slush from the road.

I was contacted by the other bidder (who is a member of this forum). Good to hear he has a real 'S' and this is one of the last bits he needs.

It is getting very expensive now...
