Having dismantled my cooper s clutch while the engine is out, I am interested to know if it has the correct components.
1. The clutch diaphragm is marked Borg & Beck WO9H303 and ALCDE04011A. It is grey in colour.
2. The clutch pressure plate has MOWOG, a stamped letter 2 followed by cast letters 0AA50111 I think and cast letters ?2?270.
3. The clutch plate is possibly ZYH90A and another number ending in 08B.
4. The flywheel has no markings that I can make out, it has six bolts which I assume means it has a removable centre.
Both the flywheel and pressure plate surfaces require attention, any advice on who can do, I am near Bribie Island north of Brisbane.
I also noted when dismantling the assembly that the "A" marks on the pressure plate and diaphragm spring housing were not aligned. Would this misalignment have contributed to vibration and shudder? Thanks to all who may answer.
1. They are all grey outside, if it is a Cooper S it will have a blue paint dot on the spring inside.
If it has an orange dot there it is a rally one, if grey dot it's a race one.
2. Cooper S backplate/pressure plate is 22G270.
3. No idea, just buy a new genuine AP clutch plate.
4. Sounds correct.
I would get the flywheel and backplate machined at a clutch/brake repair shop. Followed by balancing.
Or, PM Matt Read `TheMiniMan' on this forum.
I suggest you read this link first, it explains proper Mini clutch/flywheel machining & assembly very well...
