If you don't smell like that after a run, you haven't been in a Mini!

1) The exhaust tip may not be quite long enough.
2) The boot seal could be leaking.
3) Patch the holes in the parcel shelf with some cardboard/plastic/tape.
4) Is the boot floor rusty at the back edge?

As per your other post. Did you take your mini to Andrew at minisport. ? Did you sort the issue that you had before with the fumes? What was the result. ?

Minis aren't 100% sealed from the boot anyway, there are usually holes everywhere, in particular the rear pocket area where felt or foam has been pushed into there to "simulate" a seal.

I'd be checking boot rubbers and any rust holes for leakages too. Your car creates a vortex as it drives and sucks fumes in certain situations (one window open) so I'd check all the areas where gas can enter the body
