Why can't they just stop while they are still behind, they will never be as good as the BBC version and they should change the name to something more fitting like Bogans doin' burnouts or some such thing.

I want to ring Pohmmy Top-Gear ->Hammond & Jeremy, to get them to have a drive in my Buggy,,, altho Jeremy wouldn`t fit in it, he`s way way to big,,, But, it would be funny to see Hammond fang it around & Jeremy being all Pi$$ed off cause he doesn`t fit in it :-)

But yeas , the Aussie Top-Gear is crap

it could have been awesome.. go skaifey, lowndsey and crompo or sommit like that.

i love the challenges in top gear, but 5th gear is so much better for actual car stuff, with tiff and plato and vicki they got some proper driver cred.

forget the scripted BS, and put some real car people with real opinions and the knowledge and experience to back that up.

it's funny because the people (not Warren I guess) that were on australian top gear actually do have credibility as real car people, just not the personality for it... scripted BS...

other than being a trumpeter, James Morrison could have been right up there in ARC, but didn't make the leap from being safe and fast, to outright fast where you'll probably get hurt

I reckon the main factor for the australian version is that they need to be too safe - UK top gear show them all over the road, speeding on the highway, racing tanks & helicopters etc. etc. but there's no way they could do it in australia

I don't know how people measure credibility, but Warren is a real car nut. He owns a collection of classic cars, partially organised the 2005 Peking to Paris recreation and writes (or did write?) a regular motoring column for a Sydney paper.

Warren's never done any previous motorsport as far as I know, but that isn't a requirement to be a presenter. Of the three original hosts, he's the only one I liked. The other two could definitely drive better, but they were not entertaining at all.

There is an announcement about the new series of top gear australia as follows:

Shane Jacobson, also known as Kenny, from his popular TV show, Kenny’s World will be one of the new hosts. He’s an avid car nut to the finest detail, obtaining various licenses which enables him to drive pretty much anything. He also has a huge collection of Australian classic cars.

The other addition to the team is Ewen Page. As editor-in-chief of Top Gear Australia magazine, Page has been a respected motoring journalist for over 20 years and has test driven a massive range of cars over the years, including concept cars and prototypes not available to the public. Although he has no formal TV hosting skills under his belt like the others, we are pretty sure he’ll be the ‘encyclopaedia’ of the trio with his extended library of in-head car knowledge. Like all new hosts though, it will be interesting to see if he can pull it off as a witty personality to the show.
Completing the trio is one of the original cast members, Steve Pizzati. Pizzati is a Porsche driving instructor and racing driver. He’s also a freelance motoring journalist and stunt driver, so he’s likely to remain the driving skill of the team.

No word as to when the series will air yet, but we will keep you updated.

I respectfully disagree, and so I image would many people. :)

I am a car nut foremost and enjoy cars of all ages. I live and breathe them. Driving them, reading about them, being seen in them or just plain looking at them. I reckon every car has a story to tell, now matter how rare/common/fast/slow/crap/good it is. What little racing I do is very much a secondary interest.
