so i filled my mini with bog ect. it was there for like 8 months though. just the bog. i put the primer on. and then sprayed 2 pack on. and then it started eating through the primer ?? and then you could see the bog cracking :S

anyone know why??

how long whe primer on for before you sprayed top coat? sounds like it wasnt dry

it may be the 2k eating into the primer. Also, bog is very porous it was probably still wet with prep-sol.

Lots of reasons really, like a 1k primer used under 2k paint. The etch primer layered on thick (etch primer really shouldnt be built up).

you can't put 2 pack over acrylic products including filler, the proper filler for 2k is double the price as it is more dense, you can put acrylic over 2 pack, sound like you need to strip it again or use a heap of isolater and start again!

2 pack filler+ primer+ paint

2pack filler + primer acrylic top coat but why bother

or acrylic filler + primer + acrylic top coat.

Can i use ordinary (acrylic) primer on fibreglass (full bonnet) or do you need something special.

you can use acrylic primer provided you key the fibreglass up, best way is to wet and dry then use scotch bright pads and rough it too it's a mat finish.
