Looking into what floor panels i will need to replace the floor of my van & have came across a few questions if anyone can please help me out?

1-if i buy a rear floor for a saloon (http://minisport.com.au/prod764.htm) & buy an inner van sill (http://www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/info_MCR31.31.04.27.html) will i have a complete rear section including the whole front to rear section of sill?

2-does this (http://minisport.com.au/prod1058.htm) mini sill go on the outside or inside & is it long enough for a van?

What I'm after is a front floor, rear floor, inner sills, outer sills no need for a new tunnel. Also after the corners of a van roof (towards the back)

Talk to John Smidt at Mini King (he's on here). I just checked my recently acquired Mini King Parts Catalogue - Great Book

The Floor Panels are the same between Car and Van but the Sill Panels are different.

You need:
BHM9 - RH Front Floor
BHM10 - LH Front Floor
BHM11 - RH Rear Floor
BHM12 - LH Rear Floor
BHM13 - Inner Sill (x2)
14A9026 - RH Outer Sill
14A9027 - LH Outer Sill

Cheers,

Dicko

On UK Mini Vans the floor on the van was different from that on the saloon.

On Aussie Vans the floor on the saloon and the van was the same, but there was an adapter pate to make up the additional 3" or so in the wheel base.

The outer sills were imported from the UK, so UK sills should fit fine.

The rear cargo panels were also imported from the UK, so again UK parts should fit.

The main difference was in the floor extension.

Cheers,
Watto.

thanks for the responses guys. However why does the saloon look different to the van floors? is it because of the rear pockets in a saloon perhaps? :?

Yes, the saloon has rear pockets, the van does not.

This brings up an interesting aspect.

If the aussie vans used saloon floors, did the original floors not have cut-outs for the pockets (which would make sense) and why do the new floors have cut-outs for the pockets?

If you are going to get a UK van floor in, I would check to make sure it is going to fit - need to check out about the floor extensions on the aussie vans.

Minisport in Adelaide is apparently having Aussie front floors remanufactured. These are different from the pommy floors because of the extra pressings for the hydro pipes. I don't know about rear floors, how they differ or if Minisport are doing them, but I suggest you call them and ask.

Cheers,
Watto.

Its actually a 73 van so I'm guessing they may have changed the rear floor by then? If they did decide to use saloon rear floors with pocket cut outs, then I'm thinking they may have used an extra sill piece like this:http://www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/MCR31.31.04.28.jpg :?:

The Aussie extension plate seems to be in OK condition so thankfully that won't need replacing.

Have seen Minisport's new floor panels & they look pretty nice but the rear will still need a van inner sill extension piece (photo I just listed).
