Yes, Kiwi Elf's had vinyl, as did some English ones here. Another thing missing from NZ cars is the vinyl on the dash rails and chrome handbrake lever. I see the car is indeed a Mk 3.

I mentioned it earlier, you must have missed it. I believe the colour is April Green but later Mk3's did get a slightly different colour with a different name. It is a New Zealand colour and very similar to UK Fiesta Yellow. Is there a paint sticker still on the car? It will be on the bulkhead under the bonnet or possibly on the back face of the fuel tank.

Al

I've spent a bit of time on this and it seems it could be April Green. Dominion Motors Assembly Plant colours are mentioned by name and code only, no colour chips so it is difficult to establish the colour without mixing some. If it is April Green, it is code 47-4510. As I said, there is a chance it is something else as I have a vague recollection the pale lemon colour changed just a little at some stage during Mk3 production.

Al

It is similar to UK Fiesta Yellow but I cannot say it is the same. I could probably get the mixing formula from a paint outfit is you want.
