Took a load of engine parts to the machine shop last week. The verdict is , already 30thou over (new that) 8thou wear, need to bore to 60thou too clean up, skim top, main bearing bores ok, acid bath.
Cross drilled crank, new plugs, may need a grind, 2nd crank, already ground, 2 different sizes (mains and big end), would need more grinding. Just waiting for the quote now.
Std top rings or chrome, whats the advantage?
Any thing i should watch for when pressing the gudgeon pins in and out?

Chrome rings last longer but take longer to bed in.
Pressing gudgeon pins out is easy, but it's even easier to bugger piston bosses when pressing the new ones in (and yes, I had the BMC designed fitting tool too). I don't do that now.
IMO it is MUCH safer to heat the rod end up and quickly push the pins in by hand. But you need to know what you are doing.. I get it done by a well known Mini engine builder.
Take the rods & pistons to your machine shop for assembly is my advice........ and let them check the rods are straight, many are bent a bit.
