I know that there is a trick to easily lowering the seat, is there a trick to easily moving it further back?

Please do tell of the trick to lower the seat?

I would assume there is a lever to move the seat back?

Even with the seat all the way back it is still a little tight for leg room. I reckon an inch or so would be great.

I thought there was a trick where you change the bolt holes and the seat will sit a little lower, but I could be wrong...

The bolt holes get lower the further forward you put the seat IIRC.

This will have very little effect on where you actually sit as you sit near the back of the seat and it doesn't really move.

I can't remember how highback seats attach but with low backs you just undo two wingnuts either side of the seat and pull the bolt out, then move seat and put wingnut back through the hole that you want it.

There should be a adjusting lever that is on the left hand side, if you pull that up and push back on the seat then the seat should go back (if it isn't already as far back as it can go).

+1, I've used them, they give you about another inch or more....

One negative issue is that it can interfere with the seat tipping forward all the way (with the old lowback seats at least) as the adjustment lever may catch on the crossmember ...but people generally climb in to the back on the passenger side anyway.



I could never work out what all the other holes are for, maybe with other models they are usable.

Make sure they suit your model.

ahhhh if i had a dollar for everytime i heard that!

I drilled some holes in 3/16" stock to match the seat bracket holes and then added other holes to move the seat farther back for me and farther forward for wifey than the stock locations allow. Two clevis pins do the job.

In my case even though I'm just 5'9" with relatively long torso and short arms/legs, it is much more comfortable on longer trips to have relaxed leg room... oh, and the steering column is dropped using the common drop bracket.

Passenger side is set back farther permanently for the same reason.

Don't carry rear seat passengers.
