I'm having a go at making my own copy of a Passport to Service book for a Morris 850, and I'm going off the book from my Saxon Green 850. However, both the 500 and 2000 mile service slips have been 'detached', so I can't get the details.

EDIT: My 850 I've been restoring is almost ready, and as it had a speedo reading of 0, I'd like to have my own service book as a record. I am not intending to sell it off and make a profit.

Is there someone out their that could list the details on the back of both (what needs to be done in the service)?

Also, is there "Not applicable to new car within free service period" under
BMC MAINTENANCE SERVICE
500 MILES SERVICE SCHEDULE

on either of them? (1000 mile service does, but no others)

Thanks,
Evan

BUMP:

Is there anyone out there with a Passport to Service with the 500 and 2000 mile service slips still attached?

I'm getting near typing the whole book out, but I can't print until I have the 2 early service details :(

All I need is a scan/photo of the slips (especially rear)

Thanks,
Evan.

What version is your book? I have TP757 a, B, C and e (funny how they changed the case of the version letter). The early one was only for the DeLuxe, Saloon and Van whilst the others included the Cooper S and Moke.

It's from/for a '62 Morris 850. Part No. TP601C
It's only about 15x10cm in size

Ah, OK. Sorry, I don't have that one so can't help unfortunately. Let's hope qa50 has more luck.

Out of interest the later Passport to Service (for 1966 onwards Minis) has:

a. Pre-Delivery Service
b. After sale free service (at or before 1,000 miles)
c. 3,000 miles service and every 3,000 miles thereafter.

I think the 850 has two books, one is the "Passport to service" and the other is the "Owners Handbook"
What is written on the back of the coupons in the "Passport to service" may also be in the "Owners Handbook" in a section called "Maintenance Schedules" (Well it is in the 1100 and later Minis.)

I don't have any 850 books.

If you don't have any success from Ausmini members you could try Mark at mk1-performance-conversions. He's a very helpful and obliging guy. The first Passport to Service in the following list has a 500 mile page that BMC Australia probably used in their own publication. I'd reckon Mark would email you a copy of that page, and especially if you offered to send him a scan of your book for his website. He has done an amazing job in providing we Mini enthusiasts with an incredible selection of BMC / Leyland factory publications. A few from my collection that I sent him are there.

I am 99% sure I have it, I will check when I am home on the weekend. I have a one owner 62 850.

They were issued with the following in the blue plastic dealer slip cover:

Passport to service
Handbook
Accessories guide
BMC Guarantee

For my car, I also have the Order sheet, BMC delivery sheet from the factory, the dealer delivery sheet, the trade in info, the original sales tax stamp in the dealer slip and the original keys with the Morris keyring...interesting stuff! When my car was new it was sold with free insurance (it must have been a sale incentive!).

I had a look in the Handbook, and it does have the service details listed. So, I now have the 2000 mile details (Same as 1000 but with 1 addition), but I'm still after the 500 mile. Thanks Morris!

Gee, you're lucky! :)
I only got the Passport to Service and Handbook with my '62 850, and that was like 5/6 months after I got the Mini (weekend before the mini50show I think- good addition for display  ) One owner car - you'd think the papers would stay with it!
