They are genuine gt :)

As far as I know I ordered them via minispares uk

Nick are they genuine Rover rings, or genuine Minispares ones? part number??
The crook ones I have, were Minispares ones, but I've had them a while.
I've since been told the Minispares competition ones are OK.... but more $$.

Can you rock them side to side on the gear?

they are as far as I know Genuine rings & Genuine Gears.

not mini spares rings.

let me put it this way to make it clear.

3 sets of rings

2 I think Genuine so i'm told.

1 not Genuine

all 3 rings grab on all 3 gears 1st 3rd & 4th

they also grab on a 20year old 2nd Pre A+ gear including new & old rings.

now my NEW 2ND GEAR.

the RINGS do not grab & hold onto the gear like the others, unlike the others I can flip the gear around hold onto the ring & the gear will stay held to the ring.

with new 2nd gear, if i try replicate this, twist the gear on wich it wont even bite like the others flip it over it drops to the floor..

I will try the rock side to side tomorrow, as far as i can remember there was no side to side movement, it felt tight.

thanks for the help guys, im sure im totally over reacting. :)

im not about to put crap parts in my car though. ;)

<EDIT> Also, when the baulk ring is fitted up to the cone by hand, how does it feel compared to the other gears? Does it tighten and feel seated or slippery and 'loose', does it rock around?

2nd gear feels slippery with the ring & wont lock onto the gear. if i use the same ring or any ring infact the other NEW GEARS grip up after a few turns.
