Stripped the LHS rear windows in the Estate (I'd done the RHS earlier) only to find more rust & shagged window sliding channels - bum.

Bought paint, primer etc for the repaint - expensive but worth it.

Flowtested the 12G940 head (ex-race) off my 1360 at GR's.
The inlet flowed 120cfm @ .450" lift and 122cfm @ .500" lift. (valve lift in this motor is .493").
Interestingly, my 1412 stroker's head with the same sized 35.6mm inlets, only flowed 116CFM max @ .450" lift, but up to .300" lift it beat the race head. One of the benefits of slightly smaller ports...

I'm collecting a bare shell next weekend. It is painted so I have to get it onto a tilt-tray and off again, then through my yard to the shed without damage.

So I made up some trolley-subframes. They are dodgy old subframes with Supercheap fridge trolley wheels welded on. The fronts pivot so I can steer it.

It was fun to use the welder again. Sadly I'm still a no-talent schmuck :( but they'll do the job.

Pushed the moke around in the shed and noticed a little brown piddle and a little green piddle on the floor. She still needs some TLC.

M

Fitted up and testing the wiring harness - am happy as, no faults at all, all lights working exactly as intended :D

Cut the hole that had been welded up (for povo-pack 4-sync magic wand gearchange)

fitted seat brackets to crossmember

installed door rubbers

drank beer

admired work

Decked another .012" off the 1360's ex-race head. C/R is now about 10.6:1, will be fine with the RE282 cam.

Put in the Windscreen into Marcia. Never done it before & not wanting to do it again but I did find another use for Chinese takeaway containers  Went and started putting in the locking strip and it was way short
Gave up on that and turned back to getting Marcia moving again. Realized I hadn't adjust the tappets and couldn't move the crank  Bolts holing the Oil filter were to long so just spaced the out with nuts  Water in the rad and I hadn't tightened the Temperature sender. Got the wife down to turn the key to prime the pump and all good. As the fuel tank has a leak around the sender unit I extended the pipe to the fuel can and guess what I had the Fuel pump around the wrong was and was blowing bubbles in the can. Fixed that and tried it again and Battery flat. Ow Please
I hate Irritations
Try again tomorrow
