just grabbed a pair of lowback clubman seats with the adjustable headrests (Cheers benjamin)

Was wondering if it's at all possible to remove the headrest without damaging the seat, or having to remove the upholstery?

Ultimately the plan is to take the headrests off and retrim them all together, but in the mean time, the headrest sits at an awkward height, and i would like them gone!

yep just ripped mine out. although I'm pretty sure there's usually a little locking mechanism that's easily taken out if you just roll up the covering

The headrests come off OK, I had a retrimmed set in Barney.
Unfortunately there isn't enough room with these seats in a roundy to run inertia reel belts (unless you are 4'-6" tall). The seat frame gets in the way.

I wouldn't worry about stripping the seats, the material is only held on by small clips easily removed & replaced. You won't be able to tell to difference if you roll it up then fix it back on after, except you won't have a head rest anymore

I've got 2 sets of clubman type front seats (with headrests).
Was also wondering if I could remove the headrests to make it look like a Mk1 or Mk2 set of lowback seats.

Would a set of new Mk 1 type Newton Commercial seat covers be able to slip over a clubman seat? :?

I seem to recall that these headrests where held in with a pin or a clip.

Yes I think there ios a pin at the end of the metal shaft which fits into the top of the seat.
You would need to get inside the seat to remove this pin, I think.

They have a clip thingy holding them in, unclip the back lower section and stuff your arm in , youll find em. Or if you like destruction cut em off with bolt cutters and belt the offending sharp bits back inside the seat, that usually busts the retaining clip and they dissapear inside.

The last method is more fun

They originally had a clip to stop them from being pulled out.
If they pull out easily the clip is broken.
If you can't pull them out you need to break the clip.
