hee hee, thanks Morry

my ego remains in tact
Big/Large diameter "foot/platform" = stiff
Big/Large Radius = stiff
small diam = soft
sharp radius = soft
But---> """That`s""" not the "Be-all-&-end-all" of hi-los,,, there`s plenty more involved than just the hi-lo size/shape
the """Many""" various compounds & shapes of new &/or 2nd hand donuts ,,, added too,,, the many varied shapes & diameters of hi-lo "platforms" ,,, & the many varied shock rates/valving,,, suspension geometry,,, etc etc etc makes for any number of combinations of """Control"""" of the Progression & reaction & rebound of mini suspension systems
soooooooooo,,,, you can Juggle the shapes, diams, compounds/ages/sizes , shock rates,,, etc etc to suit your particular needs/wants
it`s the Knowledge & experience with the use of all these combination's that allows the "Tuner" to sort a quality ride for their particular intended purpose
"Some" later designed hi-los were (effectively) developed for the coil spring to sit upon them,,, & yet they`re being sold as std issue hi-los,,,, "Some" of these types of hi-los are simply way too stiff for the average Joe-Jane Doe in a """"ROAD""" mini
I make 3 types,,, soft road,,, medium,,, & race ,,, & i like to talk with the people who i`m selling them too , with regards to what donuts & shock package they have,,, what they want in regard to ride quality (intended purpose) & help them work out what they need/want... to give them a good quality ride for """their particular""" wants/needs for their intended purpose
Simply put--> not all donuts are the same ,,, not all hi-los are the same,,, & not everyone wants a race car
i really do pity the girls with big-boobies who have to endure the wrath of the large diam, flat shaped hi-lo with old stiff donuts in their road mini simply because that`s all they """THINK""" is avaliable
i havn`t seen any """HI-LO""" break,,, i have (however) seen """"PLENTY""" of std struts break tho
It`s good to finally see some good quality discussion about this topic tho,,, maybe the people dealing with the major chinese manufaturers may change their designs to suit the average road mini rather than simply cater for the boy/girl (pretend) racer
